Your responsibilities

• Provide server administration to our data centers

• Provisioning new servers, imaging, monitoring, and other daily routines

• Daily monitoring and maintenance of servers

• Perform backup, file replications, and script management for servers

• Test and apply new software and patches

• Complete security audits on a routine basis

• Report to the VP Product and Innovations

Your Qualifications

• 5+ years Linux System administration experience with Debian-based distributions (Ubuntu
       in particular)

• Experience in working with Open Source

• Able to compile a Linux Kernel from scratch

• Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls,
       load balancers, web and database servers

• Experience in Apache and nginx web servers, PHP and MySQL configuration, as well as
       deploying custom in-house developed services

• Ability to deploy, support, and diagnose real (hardware, software and network) issues for a
       production environment

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, bash/python scripting, postfix, smartmontools, LVM, RAID, collectd, 
       cacti, nagios and other monitoring solutions is highly appreciated

• Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability

• Time management and organizational skills

• Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly

• A friendly, charismatic, and reliable personality, with ability to work with teams across
       departments and markets

• Fluency and strong communication skills in both written and spoken English

Startup4Me has started his journey in France near Paris.

Then, we launched the jobsite in the US and UK with first jobs posted by famous startups  like Uber, ZenDesk or Bright. Now is the time for us to spread in Germany and Switzerland.

Startups are everywhere but each country has a different ecosystem, different local events, hackatons and startup incubators. Our (non) secret dream is to facilitate the recruitment for startups with our jobsite, improving teams, concepts and chances of survival.

Hi everyone !

I’m Eric, one of the creator of the Startup4Me initiative. Here is the little story of the french launching of Startup4Me. To sum up in one sentence : it did pretty well with little communication. Based in Paris where we have connections, this was naturally the first country we wanted to launch.

We’d like to thank the first french startup to post jobs on our jobboard which is Backelite. This growing startup develop mobiles solutions to big websites and companies. They’re currently hiring developers, consultants and sales people click here.

In one week, we had 20 startups with 29 openings. We could find the different startup functions : development, sales, marketing, web design … in the major cities which is a really good sign ! We also had full-time, founder and trainee positions. I definitely thought that we would be overwhelmed with training positions. I was wrong

Now is the time to get pressed and prepare the US and UK launch.

Here are 6 quick tips for writing a good & effective job posting. 

1/ Choose a clear job title !
And do not use a title too specific. Candidates do not necessarily speak your language.

2/ Short job ads perform better.
Write a concise job description for job seekers ! Today, they read dozens of ads on several jobboards. If it’s too long, people won’t even read your offer. Keep that in mind.

3/ Be attractive !
Write a positive job description. Put a link to some video, your blog or your Flickr photos (Yes, you can insert HTML on Startup4Me). You have to convince candidates that they can have a tremendous experience with you.

4/ Always describe your work environment !
Every employee can choose a Pc or Mac ? You provide free Nespresso Coffee to your staff ? Mention it ! Generally speaking, describe your startup to let seekers visualize what would be an experience with your company.

5/ Use the press.
Your startup has been quoted in different articles ? Say it and put a link ! Job ads with names like Techcrunch, Mashable etc. always have better results. You can also cite your VC or incubator.

6/ Be clear with salary and perks.
Time is money. You can’t afford to lose time reading piles of cvs. Therefore, be crystal clear to have better applications and save time
